This is information about what state and local governments hope to do on the eastern edge of the city of Syracuse and the Town of Dewitt to connect the Erie Canalway Trail from points west to the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park which starts in Dewitt (or ends depending on if you’re coming from east or west).  Either way it is the western terminus of the Old Erie Canal State Historic Park which runs 36 miles east to Rome NY.
